The E&L T191 is a replica of the QBZ 192, the newest service carbine of the People Liberation Army. Its external is best described as a blend between AR and AK philosophy: it features AR style selector, but in the order of an AK, it has AK style charging handle yet also features AR style bolt lock. The magazines are rock in, like an AK, but it also has a modular handguard reminiscent of ARs. And much like an AR, it features an adjustable stock (which can’t be folded). Picatinny rails run all over the top receiver and handguard, allowing to mount a variety of accessories, while the original handguard can be fitted with rail sections at the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock position. Of note is the fact just about every component on this rifle is made of steel except the receiver and the polymer furniture.
Built from a training paintball gun, the 191 boasts a hybrid system; it can either be powered as a CO2 GBBR taking 33g CO2 cartridges, or from a HPA tap at the bottom of the pistol grip. Regardless which mode is chosen, the recoil of this rifle is particularly noteworthy, not to mention it’s extremely loud action makes this a far more authentic shooting experience than most of its competition. And speaking of realism, the bolt also locks back on empty although the bolt travel is shorter than on the real firearm.
